A bright house decorated in light tones

Bright house

I love the apparent simplicity of this suburban Sydney home on Bellevue Hill. To restore this Edwardian house and designing its new interior was commissioned by Melbourne-based studio Pipkorn & Kilpatrick. We can see the result now thanks to the photographs of Christine Francis.

The large windows provide natural light in every corner of this house. The Light colors they also contribute to creating bright spaces; white is combined in each room with grays and light woods. The rooms are simply decorated, taking into account both aesthetic and practical reasons.

Decorating a house with practicality in mind seems like a no-brainer, right? But how many times have we seen fabulous but "empty" houses in different decoration magazines and editorials? In the spaces designed by Pipkorn & Kilpatrick however, it is not difficult for us to imagine a family.

In the restoration, the wooden floors and certain architectural details of the old house were preserved. It is in this area where the bedrooms, the games room and the study are located. Rooms that have tall cabinets to hide the television, organize clothes or store all the toys that arrive at the same time as the children.

Storage is key in a home; And we all know that it's never enough I like the fact that they have installed benches by the windows with extra space. Another element that catches my attention is the desk, fully integrated into the closet, as one more module.

Across the hall, in the back area, are the common spaces. Kitchen, dining room and living room share a large space with access to the garden. An added space in the reform with polished concrete floors and black aluminum windows that allow the passage to a large patio open to the garden. The marble countertops and wooden chairs stand out in this large space, as well as the golden accessories in the living room.

Do you like how this house has been designed?
