As a general rule, we do not usually take into account ceilings of the house when decorating our home, but there is a wide variety of options to cover them and add a new touch to any room, everything will depend on the height, the brightness of the room and above all on our tastes. We can use moldings, put wooden beams or cover with various materials to give a warmer or more classic look.
- Plasterboard: the most used system for cladding ceilings are the classic plasterboards that help to create a False ceiling in a simple way that serves both to lower the height in cases of being too high as an insulating element from cold, heat or noise from outside or from the upper floor. These plates are easy to install and their price is quite cheap. On them it is only necessary to apply a coat of paint.
- Plaster moldings and rosettes: one of the most classic ways to decorate interior ceilings is the use of moldings that are placed at the junctions of the ceiling with the walls, there are simple models and others more ornate that reproduce plant motifs such as leaves, flowers or garlands. You can also decorate the ceiling by placing rosettes or ornamental and carved plaster plates, they can be placed as a simple decoration in the center of the room or to highlight certain areas such as a ceiling lamp.
Today there are also moldings, rosettes and wall lights made of other lighter materials such as white cork, which once installed and painted seem entirely made of plaster. Their placement is very simple and to install them you will only need a special glue, without the need to stain too much or go to a professional plasterer.
