We value the aesthetic beauty of things in its most diverse facets. On Decorate We believe that it is essential when designing the world around us. That is why we found it interesting to prepare this interview with Liquid Amber, experts in the fusion of exterior architecture ’s relationship with the landscape and the the environment. His works for penthouses, terraces, grounds y historical buildings, always committed to ecology, they have been awarded various awards and mentions. Isabel GarcÃa Puente is the representative of Liquid Ambar with whom we conducted the interview.
DL: Why Liquid Ambar ?.
TO: EstudioLIQUIDAMBAR is a multidisciplinary team made up of architects, landscapers and agronomists, which tries to fill the void in our country in the design of outdoor spaces by offering both the services of preparing the exterior architecture and landscaping project as well as the subsequent establishment of the garden « key on hand".
DL: You are specialists in exterior architecture and landscaping projects, what use can this be to someone looking to decorate the exterior space of their home?
TO: The exterior of a home is presented as an extension of the interior. The need for a well-designed exterior that accompanies the architecture and interior development of a home or property is increasingly recognized. On the one hand, the extension of the home is extended with outdoor leisure and sports spaces, and on the other hand, bringing green closer to brick produces a feeling of freshness and irreplaceable well-being.
DL: What type of public hires Liquid Ambar's services?
TO: Whether it is a small terrace, with its tarpaulins and awnings, an attic or a large single-family garden, the common idea of our clients is that they want to enjoy an extension of their home outdoors. A good garden establishment, with the use of the right plants and materials, requires skill and many clients prefer the help of a professional, even if they are quite clear about their idea of a garden, which, of course, we try to respect as much as possible. Normally, in my opinion, in all sectors the help of a professional, in the long run is a saving, not an expense.
DL: When designing a particular project, where are the keys to satisfying a client who seeks that fusion of his living space with the landscape?
TO: When we design an outdoor space we seek to integrate natural elements such as earth, rocks, water and plants with building materials such as stone, wood, cement, metal and glass, trying to achieve a delicate balance between scale and proportion, accents and contrasts. , rhythms and movements.
We work and meet with the client many times until we are sure of finding the ideal garden for their needs.
DL: What can you tell us about the trends in gardens and furniture for outdoor use this season?
TO: On the one hand, the garden, even if it is small, must adapt to a zoning according to the client's needs, and to that extent materials such as stone, wood or gravel are used for the establishment of paved areas, swimming pools have evolved in the current landscaping charging force like sheets of water that work visually all year round and grass meadows are understood as green carpets with well established irrigations. The use of the vegetation depends on the area where the garden is established (tropical, Mediterranean, continental) and on the client's taste (style called Japanese, rustic, compartmentalized ...). Currently, lighting is of great importance, being very fashionable Kanpazar type luminaires, and in terms of furniture, the large outdoor furniture firms have developed wonderful collections such as that of Patricia Urquiola, Gandia Blasco or the outdoor accessories designed by our studio. Also, nurseries like Los PenotesThey have a large outdoor decoration shop with all the latest trends.
DL: Your proposals seek to deepen the natural balance of man and his habitat with the environment, in what way do you contribute to creating sustainable solutions at a time when brick and cement have acquired so much prominence?
TO: We never tire of repeating it, having a garden is a pleasure, but also a necessity, not only for reasons of enjoyment and pleasure, aesthetics or functionality, which are already important reasons, but they must also be aware of the importance of an action that consists of restoring the destroyed landscape and converting the piece of nature that belongs to us into a habitable space, also lasting for generations.
DL: Liquid Ambar has been participating regularly in HomeDecor, the most important decoration exhibition in Europe. Through your experience, how has everything related to the gardening and outdoor design sector evolved in Spain?
TO: Casa Decor is an international platform for architecture, interior design and exterior design that transfers the latest trends in these fields, offering the most relevant products, companies and trends on the current scene. Since our first participation in 2002, with an attic called skyline, we have witnessed the enormous evolution in incorporating exteriorism, even in years like the past where there was no real exterior in the house and we created a restaurant terrace inside.
CasaDecor is launched thanks to people who know how to attract professionals in the sector by offering them carte blanche in the space they are going to develop. I recommend everyone to visit and I anticipate that this year it will be present in Madrid on Nuiremberg Street next April.
DL: Finally Isabel, there is a Metaphysical Law that literally says: "as it is inside, it is outside." Do you think that there should be an integration and correspondence between the interior and exterior decoration?
TO: Absolutely, it is a path that we travel hand in hand with interior designers and exterior designers, it is about offering our clients what makes them the happiest, which is, after all, being comfortable at home.
