Organizing all the waste that we generate daily in our homes is not a simple task. There are three garbage cans that we need if we want to recycle organic waste, paper and plastic. Where do we put them? How do we organize them? We do not always have a suitable site for them, nor a sufficient site or so we think.
New kitchens often integrate solutions to organize garbage; Drawers divided into different modules for organic, plastic, glass and paper. The fact that our home is not new or we cannot renovate it should not, however, be an excuse for not organizing the garbage in a practical and aesthetic way. Today there are many solutions on the market that allow us to organize our garbage. Beyond the possibility of recycling, they provide us with a comfortable, clean and discreet space in which to deposit all the waste that we generate daily. Having the garbage in sight is not an option!
Compartmentalized trash cans
One of the simplest and most popular options to organize garbage, without a doubt, are the bins with different compartments, up to 3! Today there are designs that combine design and functionality. Those made of stainless steel with inner plastic buckets and pedal mechanism they are attractive to the eye. Songmics, Harima, Poubelle or Curver are some of the brands that market them.
The Joseph Josep cubes are also interesting. They have a modern design available in different finishes and a vertical arrangement. It has a main compartment with a removable tray and carbon filter to eliminate odors. And a second compartmentalized lower compartment for other types of waste.

Stackable Modular Trash Cans
It is an alternative very similar to the previous one that unlike this look for verticality. Different companies offer buckets with different colored lids that we can stack one on top of the other. They are more uncomfortable when it comes to throwing out the garbage, but they allow us to stack as many as we want.
The designs at the moment are not very sophisticated, but they are perfect if you have a small interior patio or balcony in the kitchen in which to put the garbage. The few out there with an elegant design like those of WDGT (in the image to the right) are paid!
Wall furniture
They follow the idea of the previous ones in terms of vertical storage, but aesthetically they are cleaner. They generally have a depth of 25 cm so they do not steal too much space. They are also available in different materials and finishes so it is not difficult to adapt them to the kitchen regardless of its style. You will find them both in stainless steel and in plastic or wood.
We must bear in mind that many of these furniture must be fixed to the wall to avoid accidents, thus becoming a fixed element of our kitchen. If that's a problem, it is possible to find lower capacity models with wheels. Aesthetically they are clean and we can find them from € 123 from brands such as Arredamenti, Suska or Don Hierro, among many others.
Removable under-sink cubes
If you have space under the sink this is a great option. The bins with rails are practical, comfortable and allow us to organize the garbage in a very clean way, out of our sight. Normally they incorporate up to 2 buckets so they must be complemented with other solutions if we want to be able to recycle all our garbage. In the image to the left, Hailo's solution (€ 60,16)
There are also other more sophisticated systems. Solutions that are integrated into the kitchen drawers and that allow us to discreetly organize garbage, out of sight. It is true that they are cubes that do not usually have a large capacity, but if we get used to take out the trash daily do they work! It's a matter of adopting new routines.
If we cannot make modifications to our kitchen, there are, as we have shown you, many alternatives from which to choose the one that best suits our practical and economic needs. They are all a better option to have the garbage bags in sight, on the counter or in a corner of the kitchen. This should never be an option. They are dirty and end up generating unpleasant odors.
