The Valencian architect Vincent Guallart is the creator of a new form of recreation on our beaches, through its Microcoasts, A species of artificial wooden islands with different shapes, sides and angles that has already worked in Vinaroz (Castellón, Spain).
These terrestrial islands allow the use of the land despite its rugged surface, thus overcoming the geographical features and rocks so frequent in some costas, to create a safe and flat platform what to use as sunroom and decking area or to take a picnic, where children and adults can feel comfortable.
The idea is very interesting when it comes to socialize a space which in other circumstances would be difficult to enjoy. The use of a natural material such as wood it is also ideal when it comes to coping with the elements.
According to guallart, its architecture is focused on innovation in the territory, through different ideas and projects that they put aside the solutions already used. For this, it is essential preserve natural environments, building to integrate and never to destroy or distort the landscape. It seems clear that with Microcoasts gets it.
