Ideas to give warmth to the home

Warmth at home

During winter days, what a home needs the most is to convey warmth. When we get to it, what we want is that our house has that warm touch so cozy, in which we feel more comfortable. Just as in the summer it is better to opt for a decoration that provides freshness, in the winter warmth is better.

There are some guidelines for getting a warmer environment at home if that is what we want. Although white and gray tones are fashionable, these are not the most suitable for this purpose. But in addition to colors, we can use other resources to get that feeling when we get home, with materials and textures.

Warm colors

Colors are very important when it comes to make us feel warm. As we say, if we want freshness we turn to white, blue or gray, but if we want warmth we opt for earth tones, beige, orange or yellow for the walls and textiles and furniture. First of all, we can create a great feeling of warmth by painting the walls in these types of tones.

Textiles

Another way to make us feel warmer at home is textiles, which help a lot in this regard. Try to see a room without rugs and with a large, high-pile rug. Things change a lot, so these textiles can help us. From sofa blankets to hallway rugs and in the bedrooms, they are ways to create a warmer environment. Especially if we talk about thick knitted or hair textiles.

Materials

The materials also influence when giving that warmth. Metal, for example, create colder environments, the same as glass. That is why it is always better to opt for the wood in medium tones. This is the material that gives us the most warmth.
