The Spanish fashion distributor “Grupo Inditex”, which will have more than five thousand stores before the start of 2011, opened a new establishment on December XNUMX that will undoubtedly be emblematic.
Zara has opened one of its most spectacular stores in Rome, located on Via del Corso, one of the most commercial areas of the city. The place is located in the Bocconi Palace, a building of historical character, with more than 120 years of existence.
To reform and redesign the premises, the Inditex group has hired the prestigious architectural firm Duccio Grassi, who have tried to recover and maintain the most characteristic features of this building from the latter part of the XNUMXth century. The result of the reform are four floors distributed in a circular space around a central atrium. The façade consists of four huge windows formed by arches, in this way during the day all the sunlight enters.
The store, which is the most eco-efficient in Inditex's Strategic Environmental Plan, opts for LEED certification, an American seal that distinguishes buildings that have demonstrated a commitment to sustainability by meeting the highest efficiency standards and by using alternative energies .
