El architecture studio de Zaha Hadid has won the design contest for the new Guggenheim Hermitage Museum de Wool, capital of Lithuania.
Also participating in the competition were architecture studios from Daniel Libeskind (video of your project) Y Massimiliano Fuksas (video of your project).
At winning design we can appreciate distinctive signs of the style of its author, the Iraqi Zara hadid: movement, light y lightness, conceptualized in a building which seems to float mystically defying gravity. The surface bright y metal is an indication of architectural language of the future.
This impressive project will be the great Lithuanian bet for 2009, the year in which Wool will European Capital of Culture. The new modern art center will house pieces from collections from the Hermitage of Saint Petersburg and the Guggenheim in New York.
