Norwegian luxury in trendy colors: Mikado Suite at Oslo's Grand Hotel

Mikado bedroom suite

The Norwegian company Fargerike is a specialist in carrying out color studies and offer interior proposals that derive from said chromatic research; The Grand Hotel in Oslo had the intention of renovating one of its most famous suites and did not hesitate to put itself in their hands to achieve a spectacular effect: The Mikado suite has just been re-opened with great success and has had numerous collaborations from designers and native artists although the result has little to do with the Scandinavian environments to which we are accustomed; that is precisely where its originality lies. For example, the lacquered desk is a piece by Andreas Engesvik that Fjordfiesta has just released on the market and yet it refers to the 50s.

The suite, clear oriental inspiration, has 72 m2 distributed in a bedroom with a dressing room and French-style banconadas, a living room and an office. All rooms are decorated in purple tones, but there is an evident gradation of tone between one and the other: The room is purple and is completed with slight touches of coral on bedside tables, lamps and textiles to make the environment less crowded and bright. The office tends to violet and is softened with natural wood floors and furniture to create a more relaxed and contemporary atmosphere.

In the living-dining room, lavender color has been chosen and a decoration of floral, which contrasts with the brass details of the table, mirrors and accessories; the room acquires a romantic air where restored period furniture coexists with last generation pieces such as the Ok sofa from the manufacturer LK Hjelle, which, as it is upholstered in an exclusive velvet fabric, loses its minimal aesthetic, fitting in perfectly with the chic sophistication of the suite room. Getting it right by mixing the old and the new is an added value on the rise!
