Dror Benshetrit examined the characteristics of a folding chair common as part of his final project at the Eindhoven Design Academy. He tried to find solutions to make them more attractive and thus the idea of creating a chair that would also function as a work of art arose.
The Pick Chair is a flat structure with movable joints, composed of four panels. Thanks to a small hole in the upper part, it can be hung on the wall as a work of art and can be transformed into a chair or stool in a single gesture. Sounds good right?
El storage problem in smaller homes it is the one that usually leads us to opt for folding chairs over traditional designs. However, after buying them we find a second problem to solve, where to keep them? If we do not have space for one more traditional chair, it is likely that it will also be difficult to find an appropriate place for a folding chair.
With Pick Chair such problems do not exist. The "chair" designed by Dror Benshetrit is designed to also function as a work of art and therefore becomes a great proposal for decorate the wall of the hall or the living room. Two or three panels placed in parallel can completely transform a dull and boring wall.
When we need the chairs, a single gesture will be enough to turn those articulated panels into a seat with backrest or a cube that works as a stool. Thanks to its pivot hinges, doing so is very simple and does not require any effort, as you can see in the video.
Pick Chair is available with structure in polished steel and oak wood paneling in two versions; the first, with a laser graphic incision (tree / saw); the second with digital printing. Both are available in Classic Design from € 900.
