I certainly never imagined how a school bus could be turned into such a beautiful mobile home. Hank Buttita is the protagonist and the author of this magnificent work. Hank, when he went to architecture school, he drew buildings that he knew would not exist, for clients who were imaginary and with details that were very difficult to even understand. Hank likes to explore all the details and discover the possibilities at full scale, which is why decided to transform a school bus into a mobile home.
He bought the bus for $ 3.000 and spent another $ 6.000 to fix it up so it could be converted into a home, so for $ 9.000 he has been able to have his mobile home, and also built, thought and designed from your mind and to meet your needs.
One of the main goals during the design phase was to develop an open living space that was not too overwhelming. In order to achieve this, he eliminated any furniture or structure ideas that remained along the bottom edge of the window. This allows the space to be a continuum, keeping the lines straight and clear and that you can see the entire space from one end to the other, whether you are lying down or sitting.
That is why it has managed to develop a thin-wall system integrating the structure, isolating it and being able to add electricity. The roof is covered in compression flex plywood and the floor is reclaimed gym flooring.
It has a seating area, two beds, and plenty of storage space. It has a kitchen and bathroom and also everything is decorated with wood and brings great warmth to the rooms. In addition, the windows also help to create a feeling of spaciousness since the luminosity that enters is spectacular.
Without a doubt it is a good house to go on vacation to travel kilometers, right? What do you think of this Hank Buttita mobile home?
