One of the most complicated things is getting it right when it comes to putting color in the different spaces in your house. To avoid mistakes, you should know that there is a ratio rule that will allow you to hit the amounts of color suitable for each space of your home.
The rule that you must use to know how to apply color correctly is known as "60-30-10 rule." It has splendid results, and it will help you a lot to distribute the colors of each room so that they are aesthetically harmonious. The numbers refer to three colors and the percentage of space they must occupy in each room. 60% corresponds to the predominant color; 30%, to the secondary, and 10%, to the contrast or detail color.
Therefore, we can say that, in decoration, 60% of the color of the room corresponds to the walls, 30% is taken by textiles and upholstery, and 10% would correspond to some detail that attracts attention: a painting, a vase, a lamp or simply a bouquet of flowers.
Obviously, we should not consider this rule as an immovable resource to decorate our house. In fact, these percentages would only be the starting point. Then you can always add more colors to cushions or decorative accessories.
