The romance of grandmother's kitchen

The kitchen is one of the places that are currently most taken into consideration in the world of interior design. After all, it is the place where you spend most of your time with your family. For this same reason, it has to be spacious enough so that the whole family can be at the same time eating or waiting for the food to be ready. In addition, tenants usually cook at the same time in shared flats. Reason why it is usually quite impractical to be side by side fighting not to invade space of the other or that you do not get the oil from the pan of the other while you are stirring your hot chocolate.

However, the kitchens have also been considered one of the most romantic places. Who does not have the image of the grandmother preparing your delicious cake When you were a child, crying out for the freshly baked cookies to finally come out? One of the recurring images in movies that try to evoke bygone times are those stone kitchens, in light tones.

The only flaw with these kitchens is that they are completely impractical today, as needs have changed. In the nineties they used to make houses in which the kitchen was on one side and the living room on the other. Starting in the XNUMXst century, this concept changed and now it is opted for merge the kitchens with the living room. The style used depends on your taste. However, I would opt for a fusion of two styles: a functional style in which one can eat on the countertops and at the same time can see the TV in the living room right in front of it, and a romantic aesthetic that reminds us of our grandmother's kitchen.

This is my proposal. Let's give our kitchen a romantic touch. Why don't we try to combine these two things in a completely current design but with that magic of the kitchens of the past how much do we evoke? Imagine for a moment a radio playing one of Billie Holiday's hits; next to the radio, some light-colored wooden countertops; a table and shelf stocked with weathered-looking wooden cookbooks painted all in light blue with some green and gray, red polka dot tablecloths, a few candles in the center of the table with the dishes arranged, a bottle of wine, In the oven preparing delicious cupcakes, large windows decorated with pale pink curtains that leave our living room kitchen fully illuminated. And now, make your dreams come true!

Below, you can see a picture of a weathered wooden shelf decorated with plates of different sizes.

And it is that the dishes can do their decorative function well as can be seen in the following kitchens furnished with countertops and wood of different shades, but with the shelf with plates behind, the first in grayish blue and the second in beige.

Hanging your polka dot rags in your kitchen and combines with your weathered wood chair covers to give an interesting vintage contrast.

And, most importantly, do not forget that in the world of decoration it is possible make all your dreams come true.
