Andrey Gorozhankin, from the Russian design studio decolieu, has made the renovation of an apartment in Moscow. The Japanese aesthetics and a careful harmony in materials gives the home beauty in its essentials.
The house was an 80 square meter apartment, with a very high ceiling, which gave the idea of create an upper floor and a mezzanine to make better use of space. This allowed for the creation of two new rooms for the children of the growing family and an upstairs bathroom.
One of the most striking ideas has been the creation of a original curved roof, using lime for its coating, which aims to poetically reflect the beauty and imperfection of nature's texture. Thin sheets of marble were used to cover the walls, with an elegant wooden staircase leading to the upper level.
Russian designer Yuri Ryntovt emphasized the oak to create unique sculptures and furniture pieces.
The game of contrasts between light and dark tones lends a sophisticated air to the apartment, while the spaces communicate through an interesting flow where the Minimalism does not leave out the small details.
