When I was little, I spent many hours in the kitchen. I got used to both doing my homework and studying in the kitchen, while my mother cooked. The kitchen was the warmest space in the house and also the most welcoming. Today I still use the kitchen to read, even if it does not have its own reading corner.
Any lover of cooking and reading would like to enjoy spaces like the ones we show you today, am I right? Reading corners in which to sit and read, while having a glass of wine or a coffee. A bench and a space to store some books is all we need for this.
Creating a corner in the kitchen suitable to enjoy reading is not complicated. What do we need? is the first question we must ask ourselves. Essential is to have a comfortable chair or bench to sit on, a small storage space to organize books and good lighting.
How can we make this reading corner more comfortable? At this point we will have to explore the needs of each. There will be those who prefer to read with their legs straight and those who will not conceive of picking up a book without having a cup of coffee next to them. In the latter case we will have to add a table to the essentials.
This corner does not have to be exclusive for reading. We can adapt a space created with another purpose to also carry out this activity. Substituting some kitchen chairs for a bench where we can comfortably sit and read around the table may be a good idea.
As you can see in the images, you can also take advantage of the space under the staircase or a window to create a pleasant space. Keep in mind that you will also need storage space. You can achieve this if you bet on a bank with storage space or incorporating some shelves on the wall.
