We moved to Melbourne to visit a Victorian house owned by architect couple Annick Houle and Stephen O'Connor. We enter a historic building to enjoy some interiors sophisticated, elegant and welcoming decorated in neutral colors: mainly black, white and wood tones.
The house is very bright, thanks to its large windows. Chaired by a modern suspended fireplace, the living room opens to the patio, an outdoor corner in which to enjoy the long summers of the city. The folding doors that separate one and the other space, turn the second into an extension of the first.
They are also striking in this large space, both the solid wood table in the dining room, ideal both for day to day and when receiving visitors, as well as the art gallery you saw the wall in front of the sofa. It is not the only space in which art takes on a great role; both the hall and the staircase are decorated with galleries.
Black and white are also protagonists in the kitchen, decorated with oak cabinets, marble countertops and backsplash of carrara. Luxury finishes for a large space where there is no shortage of counter space to work or cupboards to serve as a pantry. Who wouldn't want a kitchen this beautiful?
One of my favorite rooms in this house is the library. As a reader, I would love to enjoy a classic space like this one, which offers you at the same time a work corner and another dedicated to relaxation. The wooden furniture tailor-made and packed with books, they are especially striking.
The bedroom is out of the general style of the house. The wooden floors are not visible here, the room is carpeted and the atmosphere is modern. A bed with white clothes and a metal frame chair is all we can see. Do you like this Victorian house full of art?
