Wall decoration has evolved a lot, from the everlasting paintings (originals or prints) and the heads of animals, to the pictures placed in a geometric way and the motifs on vinyl. Currently highlights the profusion of elements placed asymmetrically or the repetition of the same object in different formats, recalling past styles.
Inspiration comes from varied fontsLike British Romanticism, French Baroque or the Central European Renaissance "Chambers of Wonders", those private cabinets that hoarded art, ceramics, antiques and all sorts of prodigious inventions and various gadgets in a confined space. The common aspect when decorating the wall seems to be the homogeneity in the colors: ocher, tan, sepia or grayish tones, which give the environment a special and evocative patina.
With regards to repetition of the same object, there are many options: rickety frames, movie posters, birdhouses, framed images cut out of scientific books, chess, butterflies and other insects, clocks from different sources ... A good example would be this bathroom full of old hand mirrors (easy to find in markets) along with other standard size; in addition to being decorative, they help to enlarge the room and the play of reflections multiplies the accumulation effect.
