Decorate a narrow kitchen, it is quite a challenge. However, there are some tips regarding their distribution and decoration that can help us maximize their space. That is what we are going to talk about today about linear and "L" distributions, finishes and colors.
What do we understand by a narrow kitchen? In Decoora Today we refer to a narrow kitchen as one that only allows us to place a line of furniture cooking. The one that, due to its size, only allows us to play with a wall and use the rest of the space as a corridor and / or work area.
Online distribution
There are different ways to maximize the space in these kitchens and keep them tidy. As we have already told you, we can bet on an online or "L" distribution. Yes the kitchen is long enough, we can place all the furniture in line, clearing the back wall and thus achieving a sense of greater depth. If we also decorate that wall with exposed brick or some painting or photograph, we will divert our gaze to it.
Regarding the distribution of the furniture, we must think that a clear entrance it will give a false but interesting feeling of spaciousness. One way to achieve this is by avoiding placing tall cabinets in that area of the kitchen, taking advantage of the space to locate the kitchen and the hood. For the same reason, the refrigerator is usually placed at the back.
It seems logical to take advantage of the longest wall to place the furniture in line, but what if we take advantage of the back wall as they do in the second image? If we are not very kitchens, such a proposal may be enough for us. In this way, we will be able to reduce the feeling of narrowness and we will be able to include a folding table or small island which will be especially practical for breakfast or dinner, as well as to separate environments.
Distribution in «L»
If the space seems insufficient, the distribution in "L" will become our best ally. We can use the background space to place the sink or kitchen; in this way we will have enough counter space next to both to work comfortably. In this case, and contrary to what happened in online distribution, the refrigerator will be placed at the entrance so as not to "cut" the worktop.
Furniture and colors
The simpler the furniture, the less it will occupy visually. Look at the images; almost all have as protagonists simple lines furniture without too many details. Another common element in most of them is color; white is a very bright color and as such visually widens spaces, making it the most appropriate for narrow kitchens.
