Ikea has chosen a global team of young designers to create PS 2014, a avant-garde collection which will go on sale in the US on April 1. 50 pieces of furniture and accessories submitted to the judgment of a group of design students from Copenhagen that we hope to enjoy in Spain soon.
The new Ikea PS 2014 collection is inspired by the young homes in continuous transformation, usually small urban spaces, to which these products will make the most of. Products that respond to three basic needs: portability, flexibility and quality at a low price.
Ikea PS 2014 is an answer to the modern way of life. The new collection of the Swedish giant has been inspired by urban and young homes to create with the help of young top-line designers such as Tomás Alonso, Matali Crasset or Matias Hahn, a collection of multifunctional and light furniture simultaneously.
In PS 2014 we can find from tables to benches, from lamps to bedside tables, from tablecloths to cabinets ... a total of 50 items with an innovative and daring design at competitive prices, what more can we ask for? May Ikea Spain, which has not yet spoken, confirm its commitment to this collection.
From the collection I would highlight the corner cabinets, with 90º angles that allow us to fit them in corners. The corner chair and bamboo storage boxes also help us to make the most of the space; although a simple idea the latter can help us create fabulous and practical receivers.
Among my favorites are the greenhouse, the multi-colored table, the modern secretaire and the table so with auxiliary trays. The shelves that we can use both to order bath linen and tableware, or the benches of the new collection, are also among the most outstanding items.
