Spiral staircases have always seemed to me the most original and elegant to connect one floor with another. Personally at home I have never had a spiral staircase but I remember that relatives of mine used (and still do) this type of staircase as the most innovative decorative center. It is true that they are not very innovative since they have not been invented recently, but seeing them in homes is always pleasant because it is not usually the usual, right?
Spiral staircases will never go unnoticed because their structure makes them different and very beautiful. In addition to the decorative part as the main advantage, it also has more advantages such as, for example, that it reduces the space where the stairs are located because being a spiral that rises upwards we can save on space and gain amplitude.
Although like everything in life it will also have a double face that must be taken into account, because although they are undoubtedly very aesthetic stairs we cannot deny the reality that they are less practical since they are not functional at all. Can you imagine going upstairs with a large box or a washing machine or any somewhat large object up the spiral stairs? It really is quite a difficult problem to solve.
For this reason, homes that have a spiral staircase are not usually these stairs as the main part to connect one floor of the home and the other, but rather it is usually a secondary staircase that is usually placed in less traveled areas of the house, although there are always exceptions since there are also larger spiral staircases with more modern designs that do not usually give so many problems of functionality.
