Batik

Batik is done using a technique of wax dye resistant to the one that originated in Java. For batik to be suitable, the fabric is painted or sealed with melted wax.

Fabric is dipped in dye bath and on waxed areas resist coloring. The wax is removed using heat, usually from a iron.

Batik is very oriental, a casual look that goes well with bamboo and furniture rattan. The colors they are, generally strong and deep, primary and can evoke the feeling of a bungalow in Bali.

Batiks are from finer fabrics traditionally, as the cotton or the sound, which are perfect for cushions, bedspreads, curtains, etc. These fabrics are generally not sufficiently adapted for upholstery.
