The good weather has finally arrived and with it the desire to enjoy the outdoors; for the nature lovers who like to eat in the country, or for those who want to take advantage of the lunch time at work to get oxygen in the park, I propose here several ideas with which to give a different touch to our picnic, beyond the wicker basket and the disposable cutlery that we all know.
The American studio Yiel Design Co. has created a "tote" type bag that houses the tablecloth in pocket interior side; the bag unfolds by lowering a pair of zippers and the opening system prevents accessories from being scattered or food from spilling. It is waterproof, it is easy to clean and it will also be functional if we need to quickly flee from an invasion of ants or wasps that come to our lunch!
But if we do not like to eat on the floor or we prefer comfort, there are several on the market folding models like this one that includes four stools next to the picnic table, and the whole set is transformed into a briefcase with a handle that hardly occupies in the car. It withstands inclement weather or rain well and can be cleaned with the jet of a hose. It can be a portable alternative for small terraces that allows us to have free space when we are not eating or after dinner.
The most romantic may opt for a picnic set for two "You and me" type, like this one from the image marketed by the Mattel company with the theme of its famous Barbie doll (perhaps somewhat corny, but certainly effective in certain cases). Compact rolling bags are available for large families that even include a fridge and a small barbecue with serving tray.
If we opt for lunches or snacks more frugalThere are really useful accessories that make the task easier: When the wine needs to be kept at the right temperature for hours and without having to worry about the bottles breaking during transport, this decanter / carafe with handle would be a perfect solution; cheese is always welcome on a picnic, especially if the table can hold the right cutlery and a simple bread basket underneath, which unfolds with a slight lateral movement.
As for the eating cutleryThere are them for all tastes, but if disposable ones are going to be used, it is preferable to opt for bamboo or similar models that are biodegradable and ecological. As for reusable models, there are pocket versions that resemble the design of the classic Swiss army knives (although without giving up fun colors that enliven the picnic), and even light pieces of plastic with vegetal decoration in relief as if it were one.
