Modernist apartment in Barcelona

We visited a Modernist apartment in Barcelona and we do it thanks to the snapshots of the photographer C. Schaulin. After its renovation, the house maintains original structural elements that coexist with contemporary furniture, adapting perfectly to the Art Noveau style of the space.

Tiles The floor in gray, brown and white tones are probably one of the most striking elements of this apartment. These floors help to unify the space and become the protagonists along with imposing ceilings and stained glass windows in the long corridor that connects with each of the rooms.

The owners, dedicated to interior design, tried to maintain the essence of each of the rooms of this 2000 m2 house built in 1910. They also respected the modernist essence of a building whose facades are sumptuously adorned in the wake of Casa Batlló and Casa Milà.

In the living room, the "Swan" chairs by Arne Jacobsen that complement the spacious sofa. The furniture here is white; both the coffee table and the cupboard that occupies the back wall, a design by Cappellini. Along with this, the Marcel Wanders lamp does not go unnoticed; and it is not the only one of this designer that we find in the house.

I love the dining room; the great mthat wooden and the set of chairs with a certain rustic character designed by Hans Wegner Wishbone. In the background, you can see the kitchen decorated with modern white furniture and some Jasper Morrison stools, which their owners confess are not the most comfortable.

The master bedroom is spacious and bright. It has simple and modern furniture that does not clutter up the space: a white bed designed by Emaf Progetti for Zanotta, a wooden side table by Philipp Mainzer, a bathtub and a towel rail leaning against the wall. Do you remember that a few weeks ago we proposed to install the bathtub in bedroom?

The library is probably the space I like least in the house; maybe it's the carpet that didn't quite convince me or that red beanbag from Zanotta. Weight is a small slip in front of many other spaces that have managed to conquer me. What about you? Do you like it?
