What is silestone?

For a few years now we have been able to hear a new material with which kitchen and bathroom countertops are manufactured, the Silestone. For all those who still do not know what it is about today, I want to explain a little more about this new material.

Silestone is a Artificial stone created especially for the manufacture of kitchen countertops that is composed of 94% natural quartz to which pigments and polyester resins are added to create a wide range of colors. Thanks to the base material with which it is manufactured, resistant and very durable surfaces are achieved, perfect for the kitchen where generally the countertops suffer the deterioration of time and use with ease. It is very hard to scratch and stays shiny for a long time without the need for polishing.

It also has the advantage that it has less porosity than other stone materials such as granite or marble, making it more hygienic and easier to clean than its competitors. And even includes a bacteriostatic protection system in its composition, which they achieve thanks to the implementation of the latest technologies through the controlled release of silver ions that stops the spread of a large number of bacteria.

But the advantage that stands out most externally is the wide range of colors in which it is manufactured, from the classic black and gray to the most daring and fun pink, red, orange and apple green that before it was unthinkable to be able to have on the kitchen counter with the materials that existed.

We can also find countertops for bathrooms and even floors made of this very resistant material, and the brand itself, which has taken the same name as the material, has a wide variety of very modern and current integrated sink designs.
